Artkrush

The current issue of the very cool online & email-based Artkrush newsletter is devoted to digital art. In it is a very smart interview with my Rhizome colleague, Lauren Cornell, in which she talks about the state of Net Art. She also mentions my work because she's the best! :) But the whole issue is a nice entree to very contemporary new media, if you're interested.

I'm sorry to be breaking my two weeks of blog silence with this post. It was kind of fun to push away from le blog... I'm travelling, right now, and will be bouncing around for the next month. Lots of fun stuff is in the works and I'll post more soon. Stay tuned for lots of info on Rhizome's tenth anniversary, September shows at the Knoxville Gallery of Art & Monkeytown, more than you ever wanted to know about my new teaching job at Parsons, a new music video, and more.... Meanwhile, I hope everyone reading this (???) is having a nice summer. Personally, I can't stop thinking about Lebanon....

Future Perfect at Scope-Hamptons

I'm showing my video, From Here (on which the music is a collaboration with Zach Layton), at Scope-Hamptons, in a show called Future Perfect, curated by Lee Wells. It will be screening July 14-16. I'll also have some videos in the Perpetual Art Machine installation, there.

keep on pushing it......

If you're in New York this Saturday, consider stopping by Monkeytown for the screening of How the West May Save Us Yet, the awesome lineup of West Coast music videos curated by rock star Nick Hallet. {The program launched at this year's NY Underground Film Festival and has been touring Europe recently. No doubt the DVD is still hot!} It screens at 7:30 and again at 10:00. And Monkeytown is a Williamsburg gem, featuring comfy couch-beds and yummmmy food. Anyway, the screening includes the remixed version of my performance of Salt n' Pepa's Push It, from Universal Acid. Nick has also swapped out some artists' videos for new ones, since the NYUFF screening, so check it out if you can.

Update: Thanks to MRiver for sending this photo from the screening. It makes me realize that I forgot to mention the most interesting aspect of Monkeytown: Their four screens!
