Venice Biennale, Postmasters, Monkeytown, Joe's Pub, Free103Point9, etc
Yay for summer fun! Below is info about some shows I'm involved in at the Venice Biennale, Postmasters Gallery, the Edith Russ Haus, and Monkeytown, plus performances at Joe's Pub and on the radio with Free103Point9.
VENICE BIENNALE
I've got some sound & video work at Palazzo delle Arti Napoli (PAN), in program curated by WPS1 Art Radio for the 52nd International Art Exhibition. If you can't make it to Italy, check it out online.
POSTMASTERS GALLERY (NY)
Not Your Parents MTV: Music Videos from Hell
June 28-July 28, opening Thurs, June 28 6-8 pm
459 West 19th Street (@ 10th Ave), NYC
My long-time collaborator Abe Linkoln and I are included in this really fun group show which also includes Michael Paul Britto, Kenneth Tin Kin Hung, Katarzyna Kozyra, Chris Larson, and MTAA. We're showing a new touch-screen version of Abe & Mo Sing the Blogs, which was originally commissioned by the Whitney Museum's Artport gate page program, and the piece will be accompanied by a new headphone sculpture "duet" made by both of us.
MONKEYTOWN - Video art semiennial

Admission: $5
Viewing Time: 7:30 and 10pm
58 North 3rd, btwn Wythe & Kent (L train to Bedford)
*NOTE: I'm premiering a new piece here and it's one I don't plan to put online any time soon (it's NSFW!), so come check it out! It's called NETACRONYMS and some stills can be found here:

The word: Everyone's favorite video art venue offers a video art "semiennial of the high water marks, the standouts, the stuff that made an impression. The immersive video equivalent of 'come hang out at my place and listen to some records.'" Reservations are highly recommended for this very popular event.
EDITH RUSS HAUS FUR MEDIENKUNST (Oldenburg, Germany)
My Own Private Reality
May 12 - July 1, 2007
This is a group show about "Growing up online in 90s and 00s." Artists include Cory Arcangel, Jonah Brucker-Cohen and Mike Bennett, Nick Crowe, Hörner/ Matthias Antlfinger, Marisa Olson, Tanja Ostojic, Olia Lialina and Dragan Espenschied, Jillian McDonald, Annina Ruest, Thomson&Craighead, Ubermorgen, and Angie Waller
JOE'S PUB - ROFL!
425 Lafayette Street, NYC
June 22 & July 27
11:30pm, $12 admission
Ok, this one's gonna be nuts. On both June 22 and July 27, I'll be performing (some might say "competing") in both rounds of ROFL, which can only be described as a hilarious night of comedic presentations of gems scoured from YouTube & other corners of the internet. The nights are hosted by Slovin and Allen and Reggie Watts and presented with The Onion and Paper Thin Walls. Hat tip to Paddy Johnson and my intimidatingly impressive, "internet famous" co-stars.
FREE103POINT9
4th of July Radio Performance
This summer I'll be a resident at Free103Point9's Wave Farm center. On the 4th of July, I'll be broadcasting a show/ performance (on the radio & online) called "Independence, Left and Right." This will entail a collaboration with my California-based buddies at Neighborhood Public Radio, as we check-in on the state of independence & freedom on the left & right coasts. Expect obscure patriotic tunez, awkward impromptu phone calls, and many surprises. Please check back at my blog as details emerge. (I'm still lining up some very special cameos.)
