Montage at the New Museum of Contemporary Art

My Rhizome colleague Lauren Cornell and I co-curated the 4th installment of Unmonumental, the inaugural exhibition at the new New Museum of Contemporary Art. Entitled Montage: Unmonumental Online, the show introduces works by an international group of artists who use appropriation to create internet-based assemblages. The artists extend the radical practice of collage to the internet. Using digital images, sounds, and code, they interpret fictions and fantasies found online.
